Ministry of Music
The ministry of music at First Presbyterian Church is a broad program that offers opportunities for musicians of all ages. It is a spiritual ministry, having a biblical foundation supported by the fellowship of loving Christians in a musical setting, and is designed to complement the total ministry of the church. Contact one of our Directors of Music or the Church Office at any time for more information.
We currently offer the following music groups:
This choral experience is open to all children Age 4-Grade 8. They sing periodically during worship services and rehearse during the school year on Sundays from 10:40 a.m.-11:10 a.m. in Faith Forest Room 210. Each spring, a musical is presented to the congregation. Join the choir anytime.
This choir, directed by Jason Fahrenbach, provides music leadership for the 9:30 a.m. Sunday worship service on a regular basis. Rehearsals are held on Thursdays at 7:30 p.m. in the Choir Room and Sundays at 8:30 a.m. in the Choir Loft. Membership is open to all who want to further their musical skills, regardless of their level. Newcomers are always welcome.
PRAISE and worship Team
Express your love for the Lord at our 11:15 a.m. Sunday worship service. Song choices are a blend of newer songs and traditional songs that have been updated. Basic skill levels and a good sense of rhythm are beneficial. Practices are Sunday mornings at 10:30 a.m. in the Sanctuary, and a mid-week practice will sometimes be required. Our Praise and Worship Team, which includes both teens and adults, is led by Ray Tabor.
Our handbell choir provides music for some of our 9:30 a.m. Sunday worship services. Handbells rehearse on Thursdays at 6:30 p.m. in the Choir Room. Contact Doreen Sterba DeZur or the Church Office if you are interested or have questions.
