Next Up: November 18: Anita Graef and Julian Graef duo
American cellist Anita Graef has garnered praise as a musician of “superb artistry” (Pasadena Now) who plays with “high energy and polish” (WQXR). She has appeared both nationally and internationally in concerto, recital and chamber music engagements. Notable appearances include features in Strings Magazine, as well as Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall, the Dame Myra Hess Memorial Concert series, and “Concerts from the Library of Congress.” Ms. Graef performs on a modern Italian cello by Ferdinando Garimberti, dated 1923.
Violinist and violist Julian Graef has earned acclaim as an artist of remarkable versatility. He has been featured in Strings Magazine, on the “Concerts from the Library of Congress” series, and in many of the world’s foremost concert halls. In addition to an active touring schedule as a soloist, recitalist and chamber musician, Mr. Graef also serves as the Co-director of the Juliani Ensemble, and as the founding Executive Director of Tallgrass Chamber Music Festival. Mr. Graef performs on a 1949 Natale Carletti viola and an unnamed 1810 Stradivarius model violin.
Spirits & Spirituality
Join your neighbors and fellow members of First Presbyterian Church of La Grange (FPCLG) for Spirits & Spirituality—an evening of connection, conversation and community held on the second Tuesday of each month at Barrel House Social in downtown La Grange, 100 W. Burlington Ave.
Happy hour: 5:30-6:00 p.m.
Discussion begins at 6:00 p.m.
In a relaxed and welcoming setting, we’ll reflect together on how the world around us calls us to recognize that we are surrounded by God’s love—especially through the support of a generous, accepting and loving community like FPCLG.
Spirits & Spirituality is a chance to meet an amazing group of people, share meaningful conversation and explore faith in everyday life. Whether you're a regular at FPCLG or simply curious, we invite you to come as you are.
We can’t wait to see you there!
Partnership with Living Waters for the World
First Presbyterian Church of La Grange currently has covenants with five partner communities in El Salvador. We will be supporting El Espino in the coming years with upgrades that will allow their water team to produce much more clean water that the community desperately needs. We sent a team to El Paraíso in 2022, to San Cristóbal in 2023, to San Rafael Cedros in 2024 and to Mercedes Umaña in 2025 to aid in the construction of water purification systems with accompanying public health education for their communities. Contact the Church Office at admin@fpclg.org to find out how to get involved!
