Click here for the October 5, 2025, worship bulletin.

Discover a refreshingly inclusive worship experience at FPCLG, where an hour flies by filled with joyful praise band melodies and the comforting harmony of choral music. Hear personal stories, delve into the timeless wisdom of the Bible and receive a pastor's message designed to illuminate scripture. All are truly welcome, exactly as you are, as we seek to foster a deep connection with God and with one another.

Cross Trainers (our middle school youth group for grades 5-8), Faith Forest (our children’s ministry for grades K-4) and Noah’s Ark Preschool (for ages 2-5) meet on Sundays during the 10:00 a.m. worship service. Children attend the beginning of the worship service and are dismissed to their program after Time for Children.

The Passing of the Offering Plate

In worship, following the sermon and an affirmation of faith, the congregation is invited to respond to the Good News of God’s grace with grateful generosity, and so we receive financial offerings with a traditional passing of the offering plate. This is, of course, largely symbolic, and as such no one should feel compelled or required to give. It is a moment for us to pause and consider how God’s grace to us invites us to share with others. Generosity comes in many forms: economic, spiritual, intellectual, social and practical; we share from whatever blessings we have in abundance.

Each month we support a specific mission or ministry beyond the walls of FPCLG where undesignated plate offerings will be shared. Of course, your designated gifts may also be given when the offering plate is passed, but we hope to see our generosity touch lives in our community and the world.

For the month of October, all of our undesignated gifts will be shared with the Share Food Share Love food pantry in Brookfield. Food insecurity has continued to grow in our area, and Share Food Share Love offers a twice a week market shopping experience as well as a community fridge that allows for the contribution of fresh food to a fridge that is always accessible, but rarely full. Offerings will continue our church’s commitment to our neighbors in need. You can also contribute to this offering through our Online Giving page.

Podcast: Sermons From the Sanctuary

FPCLG's weekly podcast "Sermons From the Sanctuary" can be found on Apple Podcasts, Spotify and YouTube.

Recent Service Recordings

Online recordings of the service can be found here for those who are unable to attend.

Personal Confession

Each week one of our members makes a personal confession about something in everyday life that they can faithfully improve upon, whether from a recent experience or a deeper thought they have been considering for some time. Sharing the confession is often a source of strength for the confessor, and a message that resonates with the listeners too.

Time for Children

Every Sunday, children are invited to the front of the Sanctuary for a mini lesson on scripture, prayer or God’s love. This brief message is delivered in a way that children can relate to and understand. Following the Time For Children, they depart to their age-specific Sunday School program: Noah’s Ark, Faith Forest or Cross Trainers. Some recent examples are below:

Music

FPCLG’s Music Ministry is a broad program offering opportunities for musicians of all ages. We believe music helps us to connect with God and express praise and gratitude for God’s love. Whether you enjoy the energetic rhythms of praise music or the beautiful harmonies of a choir, at FPCLG we join together a variety of styles of music so each person can feel God’s presence in our worship service. For more information, contact Director of Music Ministry Jason Fahrenbach at jfahrenbach@fpclg.org or the Church Office at admin@fpclg.org.

The Praise Project

The Praise Project, FPCLG’s praise band, opens every worship service with a medley of songs that excite and energize us for a time of praise and connection. Featuring guitars, drums, keys and vocals, the music moves the congregation into a joyful worship experience. Practices are held on Thursday evenings from 5:30-6:15 p.m. and Sunday mornings at 9:40 a.m.

Sanctuary Choir

The Sanctuary Choir provides choral and hymnal music every Sunday, during our 10:00 a.m. worship service. Positioned in the choir loft, the group of voices soar through the Sanctuary, offering a sense of beauty and reverence.

Rehearsals are held on Thursdays from 6:30-7:15 p.m. and Sundays at 9:30 a.m. Participation is open to all who are interested.

Handbell Choir

Our Handbell Choir blesses the service with beautiful music that enhances the sacredness of the worship experience. Handbells rehearse on Thursdays from 5:30-6:30 p.m. in the Choir Room.

Grand Piano and Pipe Organ

Tyler Kivel’s closing worship music on the piano and organ are the exclamation point to our worship experience. At the end of service he often performs an additional piece. His music inspires all who hear it, and we leave filled with awe, gratitude and peace.

Below is a recent performance of Millennial Suite IV Ballade composed by Stephen Limbaugh in 2014.

Communion

We celebrate Communion as part of our worship service on the first Sunday of each month, on Maundy Thursday and during mid-week services in Lent. For us, this serves as a reminder of Christ’s self-sacrifice on the cross, and it is an expression of His love for the world. As a result, we do not restrict our shared invitation, whoever seeks the presence of Christ—regardless of age, religious tradition or spiritual condition—is welcome to share.

In most cases the bread and cup are shared by intinction—coming forward to receive the bread and dipping it in the cup. In every instance, non-alcoholic juice is used, and a gluten-free alternative is available. Additionally, those unable to come forward will be served in the pew.

Baptism

Our Presbyterian Directory for Worship makes clear that the sacrament of baptism is a sign and seal of God’s grace and our response. We do not believe that baptism is a private experience but calls upon the whole church to participate in the ongoing spiritual and practical support for the one receiving the sacrament. As a result, baptism is ordinarily celebrated as part of congregational worship.

Those desiring the sacrament of baptism for themselves or their children are asked to meet with the pastor to affirm their profession of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, their desire to renounce evil and affirm their reliance on God’s grace, their intention to participate actively and responsibly in the worship and mission of the church and, in the case of the baptism of a child, their intention to provide for Christian nurture.

The whole congregation participates in baptism by voicing its support of the baptized and willingness to take responsibility for the nurture of those baptized. God’s faithfulness signified in baptism is constant and sure, even when human faithfulness to God is not. The efficacy of baptism is not tied to the moment when it is administered; it marks the beginning of life in Christ, not its completion. God’s grace works steadily, calling to repentance and newness of life. God’s faithfulness needs no renewal. As a result, baptism is received only once.

Those wishing to receive the sacrament of baptism for themselves or a child are invited to contact the Church Office and schedule time with the pastor to discuss their intentions.
