Mission & and Outreach - Green Team

At FPCLG we believe that we are entrusted to be good stewards of God's earth. We have a number of initiatives underway to help preserve the earth's resources. We can always use help. To join the Green Team, call the church office and ask for the current contact on Mission and Outreach. Some of our recent projects include:

• Weekly collection of batteries - all kinds- rechargable and regular carbon batteries. Drop them off in the green can in the cloister (before you enter the sanctuary) on Sunday morning and they will be properly disposed of.
• Solar Power - Dan Rusk of our committee will be glad to consult with you about how to add solar power to your home to defer some or all of your electric bill. A portion of the expenses of setting up home solar power is tax deductable.
• Ink cartridge recycling - We collect used ink cartridges for refurbishment. Drop them off in the white can in the narthex.
• 1-2-3 Project - You can save money and help the environment by doing the following:
  1. Change your thermostat one degree cooler in the winter and warmer in the summer.
  2. Drive 2 miles an hour slower on the highway.
  3. Replace 3 incandescent light bulbs with compact florescent.
