Firman Community Services - Christmas Party

Each year FPCLG hosts a Christmas party for over 200 pre-school children served by Firman Community Services, a social service agency located on Chicago's south side. Among those served include residents of the Robert Taylor Homes and Stateway Gardens. Their programs include:
• Day care and pre-school for low-income children
• Pre- and post-natal health care
• Violence-prevention programs for families providing children strategies for dealing with potentially violent situations
• GED classes
• Mentoring programs
• Emergency services including a food and clothing pantry

At the Christmas party, FPCLG members bring presents, Santa Claus, games, crafts, and music to children who might otherwise have little Christmas celebration. Instant photos are taken of the children on Santa's lap as an extra gift.

Planning for this event begins in the early fall and is only accomplished with the generous contribution of gifts, time, and energy through the entire congregation.
